چکیده
Yellow (stripe) rust, caused by the biotrophic fungus Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), stands as most serious wheat disease worldwide, affecting approximately 88% of world production. Even though yellow rust generally develops in cool humid weather conditions, expansion new races adapted to warmer climates threatens zones where severe P. epidemics were infrequent, such Andalusian cropping areas. In order characterize resistance mechanisms Spanish germplasm, our study evaluated 19 bread cultivars against under controlled conditions for percentage severity (DS) and infection type (IT). From this visual evaluation, 74% showed resistant responses with only five considered susceptible. Subsequently, macroscopic microscopic components identified through image analysis histological studies, respectively, six selected cultivars. Macroscopic parameters total pustule area affected (%), together early-aborted established microcolonies regarding plant cell death microcolony length (µm), capable differentiating quantitatively. Thus, these could be used a basis screening future breeding programs, complementary physiology, genetic biochemical studies plant-Pst interaction. Finally, seems first characterization collection conditions.

TaSYP71, a Qc-SNARE, Contributes to Wheat Resistance against Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici
N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors (SNAREs) are involved in plant resistance; however, the role of SYP71 in the regulation of plant-pathogen interactions is not well known. In this study, we characterized a plant-specific SNARE in wheat, TaSYP71, which contains a Qc-SNARE domain. Three homologs are localized on chromosome 1AL, 1BL, and 1DL. Using Agrobacterium-mediat...

Wheat stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), is considered one of the most aggressive diseases to wheat production. In this study, we used an iTRAQ-based approach for the quantitative proteomic comparison of the incompatible Pst race CYR23 in infected and non-infected leaves of the wheat cultivar Suwon11. A total of 3,475 unique proteins were identified from three key...

The 1BL.1RS wheat-rye translocation contained in the Russian cultivar Aurora has been the most widespread alien translocation in wheat-breeding programs all over the world. However, following the prevalence of new biotypes of the pathogens, disease-resistance genes in this translocation chromosome have been overcome and consequently they have been eliminated in modern wheat-breeding programs. I...
متن کاملGlycerol-3-Phosphate Metabolism in Wheat Contributes to Systemic Acquired Resistance against Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici
Glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) is a proposed regulator of plant defense signaling in basal resistance and systemic acquired resistance (SAR). The GLY1-encoded glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (G3PDH) and GLI1-encoded glycerol kinase (GK) are two key enzymes involved in the G3P biosynthesis in plants. However, their physiological importance in wheat defense against pathogens remains unclear. In th...
